Racing Club de Montevideo was founded in 1919 in the working-class Sayago neighborhood. The team plays at Estadio Osvaldo Roberto, a modest ground that embodies the club's gritty, blue-collar identity. Known for an aggressive attacking style, Racing achieved its greatest milestone by winning the 2008 Torneo Apertura, a historic title for a small club outside the traditional powerhouses.
