Team profile
Uzbekistán
The Uzbekistan national football team was formally established in 1991, but its roots trace back to the Uzbekistan Football Association founded in 1946 during the Soviet era. The team plays its home matches at the 34,000-seat Bunyodkor Stadium in Tashkent, a venue known for its electric atmosphere. Uzbekistan’s greatest achievements include reaching the Asian Cup quarterfinals in 2004, 2007, and 2011, as well as the quarterfinals of the 2004 Olympics. Their style blends technical midfield control with rapid counter-attacks, often led by creative playmakers and powerful forwards drawn from the domestic league. While they have yet to qualify for the FIFA World Cup, Uzbekistan consistently challenges Asia’s elite and remains a force to be reckoned with.
