San Martín Tucumán

San Martín de Tucumán, founded in 1909 in the city of San Miguel de Tucumán, is one of Argentina's most storied provincial clubs. The team plays at the Estadio La Ciudadela, a historic venue opened in 1932 that holds over 30,000 passionate fans. Known for their resilient, hard-working style, the "Santo" has consistently competed in the top two divisions, most notably reaching the Argentine Primera División in the 1980s and again in recent years. Their greatest achievement came in 2016 when they won the Copa Argentina’s runner-up spot, earning a berth in the Copa Libertadores.
