Football expert Alexander Bubnov assesses Zenit's chances in the RPL title race. He believes Zenit will defeat Sochi, but their championship hopes depend on Dynamo Moscow taking points from league leaders Krasnodar.

Football analyst Alexander Bubnov has weighed in on the tight title race in the Russian Premier League, offering his take on Zenit Saint Petersburg's prospects for claiming the championship. With only two rounds remaining, Zenit trail league leaders Krasnodar by a single point, setting up a dramatic finish to the season.

Bubnov expressed strong confidence that Zenit would overcome Sochi in their upcoming match. "Zenit will beat Sochi. I don't believe in miracles. If they can't beat Sochi at home, then they definitely don't deserve the title. They'll do it on class alone," Bubnov stated during a video on the YouTube channel 'Komment.Show'.

However, the expert emphasized that Zenit's fate is not entirely in their own hands. "They should pray to Moscow Dynamo, because if Dynamo doesn't take points from Krasnodar... Krasnodar will simply crush Orenburg and keep hammering until they drive the ball into the net. So everything depends on Dynamo now," Bubnov added.

Krasnodar, with 63 points, faces Dynamo Moscow before hosting Orenburg. Zenit, sitting at 62 points, will meet Sochi and then Rostov. Bubnov's analysis highlights that even if Zenit secures maximum points, they need Dynamo to avoid a loss against Krasnodar to have a realistic chance.

The outcome of the Dynamo-Krasnodar clash could prove decisive. Should Krasnodar drop points, Zenit could leapfrog them. Conversely, a Krasnodar win would put them three points clear, leaving Zenit needing a miracle on the final day.

Bubnov's remarks underline the psychological pressure on both teams. While Zenit must handle their own business, the title race now also hinges on the performance of a mid-table Dynamo side with little to play for except pride.
