Founded in 1936 in the historic city of Plovdiv, Bulgaria's second-largest city, Lokomotiv Plovdiv is a club with a deep-rooted identity tied to the railway workers who established it. Initially known as "Slavia," the club adopted its current name in 1945, reflecting its connection to the national railway company.
