Founded in 1966 through the merger of local clubs Yenikapı Suspor and Antalya Gençlik, Antalyaspor is the flagship football club of Turkey's Mediterranean tourism capital, Antalya. The club's early decades were spent navigating the lower tiers of Turkish football, but it established itself as a resilient force, often bouncing between the Süper Lig and the second division. The modern era has seen greater stability, with the club becoming a consistent top-flight presence known for ambitious projects. The team plays its home matches at the state-of-the-art Antalya Stadium, a 32,539-capacity venue opened in 2015 that hosted matches during the 2023 UEFA Champions League final. Antalyaspor's most significant achievement is winning the Turkish Cup in the 1999-2000 season, defeating Trabzonspor in the final.
