Servette FC
Founded in 1890, Servette FC is one of Switzerland's oldest and most storied football clubs, a cornerstone of Geneva's sporting identity. The club was established by a group of young men in the city's Servette district, quickly growing into a dominant force in Swiss football's formative years. Their early success helped shape the national league structure, and they are founding members of the Swiss Football Association. The club's home is the modern Stade de Genève, a 30,000-capacity arena in Lancy, which opened in 2003. This replaced the historic Charmilles Stadium, their home for nearly a century and a venue steeped in memories. Servette's trophy cabinet is among the most impressive in the country, boasting 17 Swiss Championship titles (though the last came in 1999) and 8 Swiss Cup victories.
