Ajax

Founded in Amsterdam in 1900, Amsterdamsche Football Club Ajax is one of the most storied and influential clubs in world football. Named after the mythological Greek hero, the club's identity is deeply intertwined with the city's progressive and creative spirit. Ajax's home is the iconic Johan Cruijff ArenA, a 55,000-capacity stadium in the Amsterdam-Zuidoost district, named in honor of their most legendary figure. Ajax's trophy cabinet is among the most impressive in Europe. Domestically, they are the record holders with 36 Eredivisie titles and 20 KNVB Cups. Their true global legacy, however, was forged in Europe. Under the visionary leadership of Rinus Michels and with Johan Cruijff as the on-field genius, Ajax pioneered "Totaalvoetbal" (Total Football) and won three consecutive European Cups from 1971 to 1973. A fourth UEFA Champions League title followed in 1995, cementing their status as a continental powerhouse. The club's philosophy is its lifeblood: a commitment to technical, attacking football and, most importantly, its world-renowned youth academy, "De Toekomst" (The Future).
