Sporting Clube de Braga, commonly known as SC Braga or simply Braga, is a distinguished Portuguese football club founded on January 19, 1921, in the northern city of Braga. The club's origins are tied to the local youth of the city, who sought to create a sporting institution, initially focusing on athletics before embracing football. Their iconic red and white colors and the "Arsenalistas" nickname, inspired by the English club Arsenal, were adopted in the 1940s, reflecting a period of modernization and ambition. The team's home is the spectacular Estádio Municipal de Braga, often called "A Pedreira" (The Quarry). Inaugurated for the 2004 European Championship, this architectural marvel is carved into the side of a granite quarry, featuring two grandstands connected by steel cables and an open end with a stunning view of the city.
